Good
quality music never fails to create an impact on the
hearts/minds of listeners, regardless of which genre, type,
language, region it comes from. Music is the language of the
soul, and is one of man's best companions for
centuries now. I believe that when coupled with a certain
theme, or based on a work of research, it gets more
meaningful and reaches more people.
The
projects I have worked on so far (with the help of my gurus,
mentors and associates) are:

Worked with an NGO on spreading awareness
among rural women folk on using schemes like the National
Rural Employment Guarantee scheme. I have edited the lyircs,
composed, recorded and sung the songs that will be broadcast
on Akashvani Hospet channel.
Mystic
verses - Jashan-e-Soofi
Compositions of the great Sufi poets of India like 13th
century poet Amir Khusrau, Bulla Shah, Kabir, Khwaja
Bandanawaz Gesudaraz,Baba Farid etc were presented by Smita
Bellur along with explanations by the Spiritual Guru and Prof.
Dr. Ejazuddin, an authority on several religions.

Exploring the common threads of
Dasa, Soofi and Shivasharana philosophies with multi-lingual music that celebrates 'unity in diversity'.
Compositions from Haridasas of Karnataka like Purandaradasa,
Venkata Vittala Dasa, Shivasharana saints like Basavanna and
Akkamahadevi, along with Soofi saints like Bullah Shah and
Amir Khusrau were presented in Avadhi, Kannada, Hindi, Punjabi
and Pharsi.

A confluence of Hindustani and Carnatic classical styles
that brings in the similarities and differences between the two
systems of Indian classical music through the rich poetry of
Bhakti cult saint-poets and Haridasas of Karnataka are
presented. Hindustani vocal accompanied by Tabla and Keyboard. Carnatic vocal accompanied by Violin and Mrudanga and/or
Ghatam.
